SUMMARY:Bursting the Climate Bubble
DESCRIPTION:A lively\, interactive session on building broader\, braver and more unexpected coalitions for climate action.\n\n\n\nClimate events often bring together the same people\, saying the same things\, to people who already agree. \n\n\n\nIf we are serious about climate action\, we need to break out of the bubble and ask: who is missing\, who has the power to shift things\, and how do we build coalitions that actually move the needle? \n\n\n\nHosted by Climate KIC Community\, B Lab and Metta\, this session is all about connecting beyond the usual climate crowd. We’ll explore how businesses\, corporates\, community organisations\, creatives\, campaigners\, policymakers and other less obvious allies can work together more responsibly\, more bravely and more effectively. \n\n\n\nWhat you’ll get from the session:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA sharper look at who is in the climate room\, who is missing and why that matters\n\n\n\nHonest provocations on power\, credibility and responsibility in collective action\n\n\n\nFast\, facilitated networking to help you meet unexpected allies\n\n\n\nPractical ideas for building coalitions that are broader\, braver and less boring\n\n\n\nSpace to challenge assumptions\, swap perspectives and escape the climate echo chamber\n\n\n\nLight catering\, good conversations and hopefully zero performative networking\n\n\n\n\nCome ready to burst the bubble\, meet unlikely allies and rethink who climate action is really for. Most importantly\, come ready to share what you can offer and what you are looking for. \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nDavid Watt\, Community Lead\, Climate KIC\n\n\n\nIrving Chan-Gomez\, Strategic Partnerships\, B Lab\n\n\n\nGabriella Hernandez\, Head of Communications\, Metta\n\n\n\n\nThis session is part of the Green Skills Festival\, a London Climate Action Week-affiliated initiative. Read more about the Festival below. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the organiser\n\n\n\nClimate KIC is Europe’s leading climate innovation agency and community\, creating climate-resilient communities and fighting climate breakdown by mobilising systems change in countries\, regions\, cities\, and businesses. Together with partners across the globe\, Climate KIC orchestrates solutions and facilitates learning to bridge the gap between climate commitments and current reality\, driving faster and more ambitious action.  \n\n\n\nContributing organisations\n\n\n\nB Lab is the nonprofit organisation behind B Corp Certification. B Lab creates standards\, policies\, tools\, and programs that shift the behaviours\, culture\, and structure of capitalism\, and mobilises collective action to address society’s most critical challenges. Our international network catalyzes economic systems change to support our collective vision of an inclusive\, equitable\, and regenerative economy.  \n\n\n\nMetta is an innovation consultancy advancing inclusive\, sustainable\, and resilient growth. Partnering with the public and private sectors\, startups and SMEs\, academia\, investors and community organisations across four continents\, we design and deliver research\, programmes and ecosystem engagement that bridge ambition and action\, creating long-term impact for society and the planet. \n\n\n\nAbout the Green Skills Festival\n\n\n\nAs part of London Climate Action Week 2026\, Climate KIC and Kite Insights\, with The Collaborative for Systemic Climate Action and invited partners\, are convening the Green Skills Festival. A full day of conversations\, workshops and interactive sessions exploring the capabilities\, leadership\, collaboration and innovation needed to accelerate systems transformation. \n\n\n\nRooted in these partners’ collective belief that climate action requires radical collaboration across sectors\, disciplines and communities\, the festival brings together practitioners\, educators\, innovators\, community leaders and systems thinkers to share ideas\, challenge assumptions and explore practical pathways for change. \n\n\n\nThroughout the day\, participants will have the opportunity to engage with a diverse programme of sessions\, connect with peers\, and discover new approaches to navigating the complexity of climate transformation. \n\n\n\nRead more and register to all the events that are part of the Festival here.

SUMMARY:Deep Dive: Unlocking green public-private partnerships. A case by case exploration
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this year’s last Deep Dive on green Public-Private Partnerships. We will explore how businesses can work with the public sector\, highlighting experiences\, learnings\, and recommendations to go forward.\n\n\n\nIt is clear that neither public nor private sector alone can solve the climate crisis; they must work together. For this purpose\, there is no way around Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) if we aim to meet our and Europe’s 2030 climate targets. \n\n\n\nAs discussed with our members during the last CoLab in Warsaw\, green and digital transformation is an area for development and business opportunities within the PPP framework\, not only on a national level but also on regional and city level. A clear recommendation for businesses that want to implement these partnerships is to be agile and able to adapt to the evolving priorities of the public sector – just like any other consumer. \n\n\n\nHow can you align your business priorities with those of the public sector to elevate your products and services? How can you build scalable\, effective Public-Private Partnerships with governmental stakeholders? \n\n\n\nJoin us on Tuesday 2 December for our final Deep Dive of the year when you will hear from a group of public and private stakeholders to further our understanding of and ways of elevating Public-Private Partnerships. \n\n\n\nThis Deep Dive will build on the legacy and insights from the Community CoLab in Warsaw\, where we gathered various stakeholders from the Polish public and private sectors to discuss PPP\, recommendations\, and actionable next steps.   \n\n\n\nWhat you’ll learn\n\n\n\nThrough guided dialogues\, peer-to-peer exchanges\, real-world case studies and more\, you will:   \n\n\n\n\nLearn from businesses and public stakeholders working with PPP. \n\n\n\nGain insights into how to work with PPP and why it’s important to you. \n\n\n\nNetwork with other stakeholders interested in PPP as you are.   \n\n\n\n\nThis is not merely a learning event. Expect practical methods and exercises to provide insights into your organisation.   \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDimitri Ionesco\, Founder of LightMirrorLightMirror develops reflective panels that bring sunlight into hospitals and care homes\, reducing the need for artificial lighting and heating. By installing these reflective panels at the edges of roofs\, natural light can be redirected into other buildings\, making it a controllable asset that cuts costs and improves the overall well-being of patients and residents.\n\n\n\nPaula McGinnel\, Investment & Industry Specialist\, Climate KICPaula is an Investment & Industry Specialist at Climate-KIC\, where she primarily programme-manages the City-Industry Dialogue initiative\, supporting EU Cities to collaborate with industry and finance on large-scale decarbonisation. She brings several years of experience in impact-led finance across investment banking\, scaling startups\, and mission-driven organisations\, with a consistent focus on climate and social outcomes. Based in Bristol\, Paula is also actively engaged in the local ecosystem\, volunteering with community organisations and mentoring programmes that support early-stage founders and purpose-driven ventures.\n\n\n\nPrzemek Derwich\, Strategic Partnership Lead\, Climate KICPrzemek is Strategic Partnerships Lead at Climate KIC\, specialising in financial instruments and blended finance to mobilise public and private capital for urban climate investments. SUMMARY:CoLab: Advancing green public-private partnerships
DESCRIPTION:Join our Community CoLab in Warsaw to design new models of public-private partnerships\, and identify business opportunities and coalitions across entrepreneurship\, education and research to push the climate innovation agenda \n\n\n\nTo reach the EU’s 2030 climate targets\, the EIB estimates we must allocate roughly 8% of our GDP. Unfortunately\, we are only at 5% GDP. We know that neither public nor private sector alone can solve the climate crisis\, they must work together. \n\n\n\nPublic-private partnerships are vital to turn ambitious green commitments of cities\, national governments and the EU into reality. By connecting urgent public demand with innovative business solutions and the latest research\, these collaborations unlock new markets and drive adaptation at the pace and scale our communities urgently need. \n\n\n\nClimate KIC invites you to join us in Warsaw\, Poland on Wednesday 22 October for an impactful Community Collaboration Laboratory (CoLab) focused on Advancing green public-private partnerships\, in collaboration with the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the University of Warsaw. We are inviting key stakeholders from public and private sectors\, national\, regional and local policymakers\, researchers\, industries\, and innovative entrepreneurs to join us. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we’ll design new models of partnerships\, understand the demand of public stakeholders\, reflect on possible solutions at the nexus of research and business\, and identify opportunities to push the climate innovation agenda in Poland and beyond. \n\n\n\nThis CoLab is just the beginning. Over the coming three years\, Climate KIC Community\, will convene public and private stakeholders\, researchers and innovators to ignite a new movement to explore systemic climate solutions and collaborate to scale and pace their implementation.  \n\n\n\nJoin us if you’re ready to future-proof your organisation and collaborate with like-minded organisations and innovators.  \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER NOW\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n14.30 – 15.00: Registration & coffee \n\n\n\n15.00 – 15.10: Welcome to the CoLabwith Magnus Harrison\, Community Relations and Partnership Manager\, Climate KIC   \n\n\n\n15.10 – 15.50: Fire side talk: Accelerating the green transition and business opportunities through public-private partnerships.Moderated by: Katarzyna Balucka-Debska\, Policy & EU Affairs Orchestrator\, Climate KIC. \n\n\n\nSpeakers: \n\n\n\n\nMichal Piwowarczyk\, Deputy Director\, Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy\n\n\n\nKrzysztof Gulda\, President\, Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP)\n\n\n\nAnna Brussa\, Industry Value Chains Director\, Climate KIC. \n\n\n\n\n15.50 – 16.00: Session introduction \n\n\n\n16.00 – 16.45: Round table discussions   \n\n\n\n\nUnlocking private and public capitalLed by Przemek Derwich\, EU Funding Specialist\, Climate KIC\n\n\n\nBuilding and scaling competitive industriesLed by Anna Brussa\, Industry Value Chains Director\, Climate KIC.\n\n\n\nBridging innovation gapsLed by Magnus Harrison\, Community Relations and Partnership Manager\, Climate KIC  \n\n\n\n\n16.45 – 17.15: Plenary: Presentation of the round table discussionsModerated by Aleksandra Goldys\, Designer & Producer\, Industry Value Chains\, Climate KIC  \n\n\n\n17.15 – 18.00: Networking reception  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAbout Climate KIC Community CoLabs\n\n\n\nClimate KIC is hosting four Collaboration Laboratories (CoLabs) in the fall of 2025.  At our CoLabs\, we engage public and private stakeholders across value chains in our effort to connect climate demand with innovative business solutions.
