SUMMARY:Horizon Europe info day - Cluster 2
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in research & innovation funding opportunities under Horizon Europe Cluster 2? This information day aims to inform (potential) applicants about the 2026 topics included in the Cluster 2 ‘Culture\, Creativity and Inclusive Society’ work programme 2026-2027. \n\n\n\nUnder the Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe\, Cluster 2 “Culture\, Creativity and Inclusive Society” aims to meet EU goals and priorities on enhancing democratic governance and citizens’ participation\, on the safeguarding and promotion of cultural heritage and Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs)\, and on to responding to and shaping multifaceted social\, economic\, technological and cultural transformations. \n\n\n\nCluster 2 mobilises multidisciplinary expertise of European social sciences and humanities (SSH) for understanding fundamental contemporary transformations of society\, economy\, politics and culture. It aims to provide evidence-based policy options for a socially just and inclusive European green and digital transitions and a post-COVID 19 recovery. \n\n\n\nFuture projects should deliver on the three intervention areas matching the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan (2025-2027): \n\n\n\n\nGreen transition\n\n\n\nDigital transition\n\n\n\nA more resilient\, competitive\, inclusive and democratic Europe\n\n\n\n\nAll topics under this Cluster are expected to mainstream Social Sciences and Humanities and to include a gender dimension in their research.

SUMMARY:The power of transdisciplinarity for innovation-led impact
DESCRIPTION:Transdisciplinary approaches that bridge research domains play a key role in enhancing the impact of research outcomes.  \n\n\n\nFor example\, Social Sciences\, and Humanities (SSH) fields are sometimes overlooked in innovation and technology transfer while their contribution is increasingly recognised. Insights on human behaviour\, culture\, and social change can shape ideas into innovations that are more inclusive\, sustainable\, and impactful.  \n\n\n\nResearchers engaged in co-creation for innovation-led impact use new methods and practices effective for valorisation. They can connect research results from Science\, Technology\, Engineering\, and Mathematics (STEM) fields with people’s lives and values\, promote multistakeholder engagement\, and develop innovative solutions that respond to societal needs. \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\nThe panel is moderated by Maria Cristina Russo\, Deputy Director-General for Innovation\, Prosperity and International Cooperation\, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation\, European Commission\, discussing with the following speakers:  \n\n\n\n\nEsther De Smet\, Senior Policy Advisor at Central Research Department of Ghent University\n\n\n\nKarim Selouane\, Deputy Director of European and international affairs at CEREMA\n\n\n\nBalzhan Orazbayeva\, Manager Strategic Initiatives at University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN)

SUMMARY:Rural proofing: Making policies work for rural areas through data/Earth observation
DESCRIPTION:This session offers a dynamic platform for interactive discussions on how rural proofing can be effectively integrated into policymaking and decision-making. The goal is to contribute to unlocking the potential of all territories and support people’s right to live and thrive in rural areas\, in line with the Commission’s Vision on Agriculture and Food. \n\n\n\nFirst\, a panel discussion will focus on how different governance levels can apply rural proofing and support each other in doing this. Participants will then join discussion tables to peer-review a range of initiatives from GRANULAR\, VALORADA and RUSTIK\, where rural proofing has been applied in practice to address territorial challenges.
