SUMMARY:Blue Economy Climathon Zanzibar
DESCRIPTION:Climathons bring citizens together to raise awareness about local climate challenges\, strengthen local ecosystems\, and inspire projects that drive climate action. Since 2015\, Climathon has been organised with over 600 partners worldwide\, hosting 1\,000+ events and engaging more than 30\,000 participants. \nThis year\, the Blue Economy Climathon Zanzibar will be one of the first initiatives co-organized by Climate KIC with Uhai Collective\, Coastal Biotech and Smart Lab funded by Irish Aid. \nAs Zanzibar’s first-ever Blue Economy Climathon\, this 3-day hackathon is designed to co-create locally led solutions to climate challenges affecting Zanzibar’s ocean and coastal communities. Together\, 50 innovators\, entrepreneurs\, students\, and community leaders will develop adaptation and ocean-based innovations to build climate resilience in Zanzibar. \nParticipants will: \n\nWork in teams with diverse participants to address the climate challenges. No expertise required\, just curiosity and passion.\nReceive mentorship and technical guidance on blue economy and ocean innovation.\nPitch your solutions to expert judges on the final day.\nReceive awards to the winning teams.\n\nBlue Economy Climathon Challenges\nChallenge 1: Reimagining Seaweed Farming “How can we build a more climate-resilient\, sustainable\, and inclusive seaweed sector in Zanzibar?” \nChallenge 2: Building Resilient Blue Tourism “How can we strengthen Zanzibar’s coastal resilience by linking marine conservation and sustainable tourism?” \nChallenge 3: Innovating Climate Smart Fisheries “How can Zanzibar’s fisheries adapt to climate change while ensuring sustainability\, fair income\, and food security?” \n  \n📍 Location: Pavillion Fumba Town\, Nyamanzi\, Zanzibar📅 Dates: 2–4 December 2025⏳ Registration deadline: 20th November✅ Transport within the island\, food\, drinks\, and snacks will be provided \nSubmit your details below to apply for a spot in the Climathon. SUMMARY:Climate change adaptation at farm level
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an engaging webinar on climate change adaptation at the farm level. The session will open with a presentation on how shifting climate conditions are changing the suitability of land for different types of agriculture. Following this\, we’ll hear from two farmers — from the Netherlands and from Portugal — sharing real-life examples of how they are adapting their farming practices to new climate realities. \n\n\n\n\nRegister now\n\n\n\n\nThis event is part of the webinar series offered by Climate KIC under our Green Horizons Farmer Network\, which aims to support farmers on their journey towards sustainability and resilience. SUMMARY:Salesforce Masterclass: Inclusive Programme Design for ESO's
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Nurturing Entrepreneurship Support Organisations and Start-ups for AI-driven Climate Action programme\, in partnership with the Salesforce Foundation\, Climate KIC is offering a dedicated masterclass series this autumn to support ESOs in designing and delivering high-impact\, climate-focused innovation programmes. \n\n\n\nThe sessions provide an in-depth exploration of four core themes: adaptation and resilience\, circularity\, impact measurement\, and inclusion. Each session combines expert knowledge with practical approaches. Registration is free and open to all\, with a particular focus on the ESO community. \n\n\n\nThe Masterclass Series is part of Climate KIC’s collaboration with Salesforce to strengthen the capacity of ESOs and start-ups to accelerate climate solutions with measurable\, sustainable impact. \n\n\n\nThis session on Inclusive Programme Design will provide ESOs with the skills and insights needed to create\, implement and measure inclusive climate entrepreneurship programmes. Addressing the intersection of climate change and social justice\, the masterclass will highlight how ESOs can integrate diversity\, equity and inclusion (DEI) into their activities while setting measurable outcomes that contribute to systemic change. The session offers a foundation for incorporating DEI principles\, ensuring that diverse and at-risk communities have equitable opportunities to participate in and benefit from climate innovation. Participants will also receive practical guidance on inclusive programme design and tailored KPIs to support the development of impactful and sustainable initiatives that reflect the principles of inclusive climate entrepreneurship.
