Terms & Conditions for Organisation Members
By becoming a member of the Climate KIC Community (“Community”), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions and commit to the Community Guidelines.
1. Introduction
1.1. The Climate KIC Community is a network of individuals and legal entities commitment to drive forward and scale transformative climate innovation. The Community is curated by Stichting Climate-KIC International Foundation, a non-profit organization (“stichting”) (registration number 77373154) duly incorporated under the laws of The Netherlands, with registered office located at Plantage Middenlaan 45, 1018 DC Amsterdam, Netherlands (henceforth, “Climate KIC”).
1.2. These Terms & Conditions govern your membership of the Climate KIC Community. By joining you confirm that you have read, understand, and accept them.
2. Eligibility
2.1. Membership is open to legally registered organizations and individuals 18+ whose activities align with Climate KIC’s mission and values.
3. Membership , Fees, Termination & Renewal
3.1. Membership fees are payable at the time of joining (“Effective Date”) and processed securely via approved payment methods. Membership period constitutes 12 consecutive months.
3.2. Membership renews automatically each year unless cancelled at least 1 month before renewal.
3.3. Climate KIC shall invoice you for the payment of the Membership contribution on an annual basis, commencing on the Effective Date.
3.4. Fees are non-refundable for the current billing period once started.
3.5. Members may terminate their membership by navigating to Settings > Membership > My Memberships and clicking on ‘Cancel’. Alternatively, you can contact Climate KIC at community@climate-kic.org at any time but no later than 2 weeks prior to the automatic renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current membership period.
3.6. Climate KIC may terminate membership with immediate effect if fees are unpaid or if a member’s actions harm the Community’s reputation.
4. Benefits
4.1. As a member of the Community, you will have access to a leading climate innovation community of practitioners and experts powered by Europe’s leading community of people planet professionals.
4.2. Members may use the Climate KIC logo to identify themselves as members, subject to prior approval and brand guidelines.
5. Right to Join the Climate KIC Association
5.1. By becoming a Community member, you automatically become an Affiliate Member of the Climate KIC Association, giving you the right to attend Assembly meetings (without voting rights).
5.2. To become a Voting Member there is a separate process described in the Articles of Association of the Climate KIC Association.
5.3. The rights and obligations of Affiliates and Voting Members, are governed by the Articles of Association of the Climate KIC Association.
5.4. Ending your Affiliate or Voting Member status in the Association does not affect your Community Membership, unless the reason for termination also justifies ending your Community Membership.
6. Data Protection, Privacy, and Confidentiality
6.1. Climate KIC processes personal data (e.g., name, contact, payment details) in line with applicable data protection regulation, including GDPR and other relevant laws.
6.2. Data is used to manage membership, provide services, and communicate activities.
6.3. Members have rights to access, rectify, delete, or restrict their data. Requests may be sent to community@climate-kic.org.
6.4. Confidential Information must be safeguarded and may not be disclosed, except where required by law.
7. Assignment
7.1. Climate KIC may transfer its rights or responsibilities under these Terms to its affiliates or related entities without consent.
7.2. Community Members may only transfer their membership or obligations with prior approval from Climate KIC.
8. Liability Regime
8.1. Members are responsible for their own actions and any harm caused through participation.
8.2. Climate KIC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages (e.g., loss of profit).
9. Changes to the Terms & Conditions
9.1. Climate KIC may update these Terms at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes; continued participation constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law. Resolution of Disputes
10.1. These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will first be addressed amicably; if unresolved, they fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam
