On 2 October, we gathered in Cagliari, Italy, to bring inspiration, innovation, and most importantly, action on the Sardinia island.
Through our Community, we joined forces with local entrepreneurs, institutions, innovators, and more, to focus on specific action points:
- Advance industrial circularity that actually lands.
- Designing blue economy value chains that benefit coastal communities.
- Enabling partnerships to scale both points above.
The conversation was rich of insights, that could be summarised in the following points:
- Maritime and industrial symbiosis can unlock real transition pathways, not just pilots.
- Blue economy is key to long-term competitiveness for coastal regions like Sardinia.
- Public–private partnerships have the potential to de-risk innovation.
- Resilient islands need resilient innovation ecosystem.
- To match demand with solutions, it’s fundamental to synthetise opportunities into portfolios that can make regions living test-beds for green and blue innovation.
